Karen, as Boomer is getting ready to
celebrate his one year birthday, I wanted to take a minute
and say a huge THANK YOU! When I first contacted you,
I had told you that I lost my dog (Bouncer- a SheltieJack
mix) of 9 years and am hearing impaired and have trouble
sleeping at night. We talked about what great alert dogs
Aussies are, and Boomer has done a great job in this
area for me. As he matures I see him fine tuning his
skills more and more in my direction!
What I did not share with you was that
6 years earlier, I had lost both my children in a car
accident. I was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress
Syndrome. I can not put into words how much Boomer has
helped me; he has an ability to sense my emotional levels
and offer comfort on a level that has allowed me to heal.
I shake at times ... no rhyme or reason. Boomer hugs
and knows when to do it! Oh, he also grins! My shaking
episodes are much less frequent than in prior years and
I have to give full credit to Boomer ... I look forward
to working with you on the addition of a second Aussie
when the time is right and will keep you updated on our
training (I hope to work with Boomer as a therapy dog
with children, handicapped adults and or nursing home
visits). We will start a little more serious training
after he turns 1 year. I want him to enjoy just being
a puppy and having lots of fun ... he is a great car
dog, loves the beach and loves people! Karen, God Bless
you for the work you do with you Aussies! Take care ...
air hugs and love from Jacksonville, Florida.
xoxoxo Marcy and Boomer :) |
