We picked up Joker 2 weeks
ago. At first we thought he was not bonding with us because
when we brought him home he automatically befriended our
mini Aussie, Sirius.
Sirius is usually wary of other dogs (he's more of a "people" dog).
We were amazed at the fact that Sirius was instantly
excited and ran around the house to show Joker where
everything was. "Here's
the kitchen! Here's the bedroom! Here's our food bowls! "Here's
our toys!" Joker wandered into the patio and was
so shocked by our rabbit, Trix, he didnt know what to
do with himself.
It's been 2 weeks and Jokey Pokey (our
nickname for him) is a HUGE, happy puppy. Joker is bigger
than Sirius now, but Siri is still his big brother. When
they play in the yard you can really see he lives up
to the name we will register him as: "Tons
of Fun". I
am suprised at how big he is! We used to joke and say
Sirius looked like a wolf, he's our wolf cub. Now Joker
looks like a bear, so he's our bear cub!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
We love him dearly!
UPDATE 1: Joker is doing well. He might be going to herding
competitions in December. We came across a little
mini that needed rescuing. He is a beautiful blue
merle, 10 months old. His dad got stuck under an electrified
fence and he almost did too. So we took him in. Joker
and Sirius LOVE him. My husband saw that Joker's mom
and dad were expecting pups and got excited. lol.
We definitely have enough but we're looking forward
to seeing the new puppy pics.
UPDATE 2: Joker will be 3 at the end of the month!
Can you believe it? Here are some pics. The first
pic below is him 3 years ago when he first met the
bunny. The third is him and the bunny today. Enjoy! UPDATE
3: Joker is turning 5 next Tuesday. He's been such a joy but more
recently, our bunny passed away this morning. He was old. He and Joker
had a love-hate relationship. Joker loved him and the bunny would growl
at him, but I think that's because Joker was 50 pounds and Trix was 4
pounds. That bunny ran circles around Joker and pushed him around. Last
night Joker laid down next to the bunny and nuzzled him. He wouldn't
leave his side. I'm so grateful to Joker for being there for my little
guy while he was going through it.
Joker truly is a kind, sensitive soul and we love him so much.
