Lilah has gone to the nursing home twice this
week and she has already become quite the little celebrity.
Everyone adores her, residents and staff alike! She literally
prances through the halls. Over and over, people remark how
amazed they are that Lilah keeps her eyes on me the whole time
we are there. Although she is a little shy with strangers,
once I assure her it is ok, she willingly gives in to the cuddles
and petting.
There are a couple of ladies who speak Portuguese
and they keep telling her, "Su Linda" which, like
Spanish I believe means "you are pretty." The nursing
home is very pet-friendly and the activities director said
all we need to do is keep her immunization record on file and
up-to-date and she can come any time. I just love seeing all
the smiles and joy she brings when she walks into the room.
My
mom loves her and my dad said he would like to have a dog just
like her.
Lilah rarely potties in the house and only if I don't take
her out as soon as she wakes from a nap. She went all night
last night without going until I took her out this morning.
She always goes to the back door for me to take her out to
poop and one night I heard her whine and she was sitting in
the kitchen looking up at her leash; she is just so smart!
I need to get her enrolled in puppy classes very soon because
she will love it!
